In 1927, shoe-designer Salvatore Ferragamo founded his eponymous footwear label in Florence, after honing his skills for 13 years in the US. Nearly 100 years later, the brand still holds the same reputation as it quickly gained after its inception; a pioneering force within the luxury goods realm that makes some of the most beautiful shoes around

And now you can have a piece of their legacy sitting within your wardrobe, as Matches Fashion have launched a capsule of some of the Ferragamo's most iconic styles. The Ferragamo's Creations collection was originally introduced in 2006 for the concept store at the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum in Florence, comprising of designs from the brand's extraordinary archives of more than 15,000 pieces, that were created over the course of eighty years. Now Matches Fashion are stocking a few of the designs, all of which are limited-edition, individually numbered and entirely handcrafted, using their original patterns, leathers and shapes.

They're a true collectors item which Cassie Smart, Head of Womenswear Buying at Matches Fashion, expects the retailer's customer base will be incredibly excited about. "Over the past year, heritage styles across shoes and bags have been extremely popular," she says. "Our customer looks to invest in timeless styles that they will treasure forever, whether that be an iconic monogram, signature house shape or reimagined archive piece."

Whether you're drawn to Rainbow; the multicoloured wedge that was designed for Judy Garland and first made in 1938, Red; a stiletto heel covered in Swarovski crystals that was created in 1959 for Marilyn Monroe's role in Let's Make Love, or any of the other four options available, Cassie can attest that it's worth the investment. "Each design has such an interesting story; it is like you are buying into a piece of history...they are a true celebration of the joys dressing up and having fun with fashion."
