Because the Brazilian flip-flop brand is working with the biggest names in fashion on a special auction raising funds for the Women for Women International foundation. This amazing project will see some of the world's most influential and recognised creatives including Alice Temperley, Manolo Blahnik, Arizona Muse and Simone Rocha turn the Havaianas humble flip flop into bespoke one-off art objects. Curated by fashion entrepreneur Maria Kastani, the auction is a celebration of creativity and a campaign to help generate awareness of those most in need. The money raised will help the charity to support marginalised women survivors of war.

The Mary Katrantzou x Havaianas flip flops

I am honoured to support Women For Women International, empowering marginalised women to become independent and achieve great things beyond the constraints of their challenging environments,” says Mary Katrantzou. “Translating these women's infinite optimism into a colourful rainbow, my art piece uses the vibrant colours of Havaianas and the brilliance of Swarovski crystals to symbolise the hope generated by the work of Women for Women International.” So whether you’re after a pair of multi-coloured flatforms reimagined by Mary Katrantzou or a pair of abstract stilettos by Naomi Campbell - this auction is the perfect way to bag yourself a one-of-a-kind piece of fashion and you can feel a little better about the world once you've bid.
