Gucci mark a sharp style turnaround as new campaign images are revealed

Following the departure of former creative director Frida Giannini last December, Gucci has discarded its previous high octane sexiness in favour of a more nuanced approach. The brand’s just-released Pre-Fall campaign images, styled by new label head Alessandro Michele, are uncharacteristically languid, with a muted autumnal palette of deep red, tobacco and dusky blue and a marked emphasis on romance over glamour. Nina Ricci heiress jailed for tax fraud

Arlette Ricci, the heiress to the Nina Ricci empire, has been convicted of tax fraud and given a custodial sentence. The granddaughter of the famous French designer was accused of secreting millions of euros in an offshore HSBC account. In taped conversations with her daughter, Ricci revealed that she was aware that her activities were illegal, saying “It's been three years so I think I'm free of any type of inspection. Everyone got done but not me. They had to give themselves in and pay a fortune.” Read more: Vogue

The president of Ugg steps down

Connie Rishwain, the president of Australian shoe company Ugg, is stepping down from the company. Rishwain, who was at Ugg since its purchase by Deckers Outdoor Corp in 1995, was also the president of the Deckers fashion division. According to the company, she is stepping down to pursue outside interests and spend more time with her family. Read more: Business of Fashion

Burberry joins Snapchat as mid-term profits soar

Burberry joins the list of large companies queuing up to use Snapchat. The brand will release exclusive shots from their garden party-themed LA show, which will include a fashion show and the unveiling of a capsule collection especially designed for their Rodeo Drive boutique.
