3.1 Phillip Lim turns 10 and marks the milestone at the SS16 show. Watch the event live today at 7:00PM GMT.

In 2004 Lim boarded a plane in New York bound for California to meet with an old friend, Wen Zhou. Lim's line, Development, had just lost its financial backer and he was contemplating what to do next. Zhou meanwhile was running a textile company that had supplied fabrics to Development. Two days after Lim stepped off the plane they decided to launch their own fashion label. Or as Zhou famously put it, "Okay. That’s enough. I’m tired of you crying let’s start a company." They were both 31 years old and lest they forget the moment, the number became part of the label's name. Since then, 3.1 Phillip Lim has become a mainstay of New York fashion week and a brand that is sold around the world, with four stand alone stores. Tonight, Lim and Zhou will mark their decade of design. The show, titled "Stop and smell the flowers" is a reminder to appreciate how far they've come.
