Louis Vuitton have released their latest short film: “The Spirit of Travel.” The video is directed by Patrick Demarchelier and stars actors Michelle Williams and Alicia Vikander. The film is to promote the Cruise '16 collection. Cast your mind back to last May, when Nicolas Ghesquière debuted the collection in the Bob Hope's former home in Palm Springs. Williams and Vikander are (unsurprisingly) head to toe in Cruise in the film.

The French fashion house began life as a luggage maker, so the concept of travel is particularly appropriate. The film shows the two women on a road trip through wild desert landscapes and rainforests. They end at the John Lautner-designed Elrod House where the runway show was held. Vintage pieces are interspersed with the new bags from the Cruise collection.

Fashion labels are increasingly preoccupied with making cinematic short movies to promote their collections or pieces. Most recently, from the 13th to the 18th October, Prada released a short film a day in their "Inside Me" series, to celebrate their Inside bag. Watch the full series here
