There's probably never going to come a day when we'll tire of seeing a new reincarnation of the jumper. Especially given that "summer" is a term most likely to be scrapped from the British vocabulary soon. Designer Zoë Jordan makes a case for the simple pleasures of a good knit with her new capsule collection, Knitlab, launching today.

The London designer has six different, season-less pieces with quirks – a cut out shoulder or cut outs along the arm – yet the quirkiest feature of all is Jordan’s decision to name each style after scientists from Galileo and Darwin to Franklin and Gondola. To make it all a reality, Jordan's enlisted women who inspire her to star in the campaign. There's Polly Morgan, a taxidermy artist, publicist Tori Cook, Catherine Marks, a producer and technician, GP Zoe Williams and Christiana Wyly who is an environmental campaigner. Then there's Lily Webb, a photographer, and of course, her mum – all of them chosen by the designer for their confidence with their style. Watch the behind the scenes film of the shoot above.

The collection will be available at Harrods, The Shop at Bluebird, Brown Thomas, select Saks locations in the U.S., and online at zoe-jordan.com. The collection ranges from £300 - £400.
