Tonight at 9pm Channel 4 are airing an exclusive one-off documentary about Christian Louboutin. Entitled Christian Louboutin: The World’s Most Luxurious Shoes, the documentary shows director Michael Waldman following the French shoe designer (and his butler Safquat) for an entire year. The documentary covers key moments like Paris Fashion Week, trips to the designer's factory in Milan, and meetings with celebrity clients and Vogue. Louboutin is also filmed on a trip to Bhutan, where he daringly wants to create a new line of shoes crafted in the mountains out of chunks of wood. The cameras are on the designer during a testing time for his shoe empire, which is trying to expand to new markets in the East. Channel 4 says the documentary will offer "not only an insight into the business of luxury shoes, but the changing tides of wealth and power across the globe."

Christian Louboutin: The World’s Most Luxurious Shoes airs at 9pm Tuesday 11 August, and will only be shown in the UK.
